2014 Novels Read

Here is my list of 2014 novels read in the order that I read them. Titles that are denoted with a Star are reviews that I deem to be of award-nominee quality. These are titles that transcend the current field with either a higher writing quality or innovative ideas as compared to their peers.

As I mentioned in my goals, I am trying to read 50 novels by the end of the year. As a rough target, I want at least 40% to be by female authors and at least 25% from some sort of diverse background from myself (hard to define and I’m not going to attempt it).

  1. The Land Across by Gene Wolfe
  2. Hang Wire by Adam Christopher (reviewed at Adventures in SciFi Publishing)
  3. Dirty Magic by Jaye Wells
  4. Maul: Lockdown by Joe Schreiber
  5. Something More than Night by Ian Tregillis
  6. Star Wars: Honor Among Thieves by James S.A. Corey
  7. Annihilation Star  by Jeff Vandermeer (reviewed at Adventures in SciFi Publishing)
  8. Peacemaker by Marianne de Pierres
